Choosing the right billing roll

Match three things to your printer: width (57 mm / 2-inch rolls for card swipe machines and handheld billing printers, 79–80 mm / 3-inch rolls for counter POS printers), roll diameter (the largest roll your printer cover can hold) and paper type. Thermal rolls print without ink or ribbon; dot-matrix and cash-register printers need maplitho (bond) paper rolls instead.

Paper weight (GSM) affects how many metres fit on a roll and how sturdy the receipt feels. For receipts that must stay readable for years — warranty bills, parking and lottery tickets — choose top-coated thermal paper, and choose BPA-free rolls where staff handle receipts all day.
